Largely unknown to many of us are the number of Canadians who have worked in a variety of capacities in the Hollywood film industry. There are over 200 Canadians who have been involved in acting, directing, producing, and founding major film studios, eg. Louis B. Mayer of MGM from Saint John, NB and Jack Warner of Warner Brothers from London ON.The first movie studio in Hollywood was built by Al Christie from London ON. His contributions earned him a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Ruby Keeler from Dartmouth NS, Lois Maxwell (Miss Moneypenny) from Kitchener ON and Hayden Christensen (Star Wars) from Vancouver BC run the gamut from the 1920s to today.

With the assistance of our incredibly versatile and talented vocalist Beverly Gail, Windjammers will take you on a musical travelog celebrating the rich heritage of  our own Canadian artists in Hollywood.

Windjammers gratefully acknowledges that the recording of this concert is made possible through a grant from the Region of Waterloo Arts Fund.
